Description
BIX 02188, a MEK inhibitor, is a chemical compound that plays a crucial role in the regulation of cell growth and proliferation. It has the ability to prevent cell proliferation and induce apoptosis, making it a potential candidate for the treatment of various cancers and proliferative cell diseases.
Uses
Used in Oncology:
BIX 02188 is used as an anticancer agent for the treatment of various types of cancer. It works by inhibiting the MEK protein, which is a key component in the MAPK/ERK signaling pathway that regulates cell growth and division. By inhibiting MEK, BIX 02188 can effectively prevent the uncontrolled cell proliferation that is characteristic of cancer.
Used in Proliferative Cell Disease Treatments:
BIX 02188 is also used in the treatment of proliferative cell diseases, where abnormal cell growth can lead to various health complications. Its ability to induce apoptosis and prevent cell proliferation makes it a promising therapeutic option for managing these conditions.
Biological Activity
bix 02188 is a selective inhibitor of mek5 with ic50 value of 4.3 nm 1.bix 02188 belongs to the indolinone kinase inhibitor series. it selectively inhibited the catalytic activity of mek5 but not other closely related kinases such as mek1, mek2, erk2 and jnk2. bix 02188 also inhibited erk5 with ic50 value of 810 nm. in hela cells, treatment of bix 02188 inhibited the phosphorylation of erk5 but not erk1/2. besides that, bix 02188 prevented the transcription of the downstream substrate mef2c in hela and hek293 cells. when tested with a panel of 79 kinases, bix 02188 showed some degree of inhibition of the kinases csf1r, kit and lck with ic50 values of 280 nm, 550 nm and 390 nm, respectively 1.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 1094614-84-2 includes 10 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 7 digits, 1,0,9,4,6,1 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1094614-84:
(9*1)+(8*0)+(7*9)+(6*4)+(5*6)+(4*1)+(3*4)+(2*8)+(1*4)=162
162 % 10 = 2
So 1094614-84-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
