Description

2,4-Bis(dodecylthiomethyl)-6-methylphenol, also known as Antioxidant 1726, is a multi-functional phenolic antioxidant that is particularly effective in stabilizing organic polymers. It is compatible with various elastomers, such as natural rubber, chloroprene rubber, and SBR, and is suitable for use in water-based, hot-melt, and solvent-based adhesives.

Uses

Used in Adhesive Industry:
2,4-Bis(dodecylthiomethyl)-6-methylphenol is used as a stabilizer for Hot Melt Adhesives (HMA) based on unsaturated polymers such as SBS or SIS, as well as Solvent Born Adhesives (SBA) based on elastomers. It provides protection against thermal oxygen aging and offers both processing and long-term heat stability.
Used in Block-Copolymers:
In the block-copolymer industry, 2,4-Bis(dodecylthiomethyl)-6-methylphenol is used as a stabilizer for block-copolymers such as SBS and SIS. It helps in providing thermal stability and processing stability to these materials.
Used in Polyurethane Products:
