UV irradiation of chlorodiazepoxide (1) and its hydrochloride led to three photoproducts: 2-amino>-N-methylacetamide (2), 1-benzoyl-7-chloro-1,2-dihydro-3-methylaminoquinoxaline (3) and 7-chloro-3,4-dihydro-2-methylamino-4-phenyl-5H-1,4-benzodiazepine-5-one (4).The photochemical degradation of 1,1-hydrochloride, diazepam and nitrazepam in the crystalline state have been investigated and determined densitometrically.
