Description
Metaphosphoric acid, also known as pyrophosphoric acid, is a monobasic inorganic acid with the chemical formula H2P2O7. It is a glass-like colorless solid that is soft, transparent, and deliquescent. Metaphosphoric acid sublimes at red heat and dissolves slowly in cold water, decomposing to phosphoric acid. It is also soluble in alcohol.

Preparation
Metaphosphoric acid is obtained as a polymeric glassy solid by prolonged heating of phosphoric acid. Either phosphoric acid, H3PO4, or pyrophosphoric acid, H4P2O7, when heated above 300°C, on cooling yields the transparent glassy mass of composition (HPO3)n.
Metaphosphoric acid also is obtained from partial hydration of phosphorus pentoxide by dissolving it in cold water.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 37267-86-0 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 3,7,2,6 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 37267-86:
(7*3)+(6*7)+(5*2)+(4*6)+(3*7)+(2*8)+(1*6)=140
140 % 10 = 0
So 37267-86-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
