Manufacturing Process
7.7 g of dihydrocodeinone are heated with 40 ml of acetic anhydride for 2.5
hours under a reflux condenser, and the acetic anhydride and glacial acetic
acid are then distilled off in vacuo. The oily residue is dissolved in water. In
order to remove the last residues from the acetic anhydride it is extracted
with ether. The new base is then precipitated with ammonia and crystallizes
out immediately on addition of a small quantity of ether. The chemical analysis
of the substance obtained corresponds to the values calculated for monoacetyl
dihydrocodeinone.
Therapeutic Function
Narcotic analgesic, Antitussive
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 466-90-0 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 4,6 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 466-90:
(5*4)+(4*6)+(3*6)+(2*9)+(1*0)=80
80 % 10 = 0
So 466-90-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

The present invention includes a process for the manufacture of dihydrothebaine, dihydrocodeinone enol acetate, hydrocodone, and analogs thereof by reacting dihydrocodeine or analogs thereof with benzophenone in the presence of potassium tert-alkylate in a hydrocarbon solvent to generate a reaction mixture containing an enolate of the corresponding ketone, followed by addition of the reaction mixture to the electrophilic agent and isolation of the product.
