Description
METHACRIFOS, also known as trans-Methacrifos, is an organophosphate compound that functions as a pesticide. It is designed to protect crops and vegetation from various pests, including insects and mites, by disrupting their nervous systems. METHACRIFOS is known for its effectiveness in controlling a wide range of pests, making it a valuable tool in agriculture and grain storage.
Uses
Used in Agriculture:
METHACRIFOS is used as a pesticide for protecting crops and vegetation from harmful insects and mites. Its application helps to ensure the health and productivity of plants, contributing to increased crop yields and better quality produce.
Used in Grain Storage:
METHACRIFOS is used as a grain protectant to safeguard stored grains from infestation by insects and mites. This helps to maintain the quality and quantity of stored grains, preventing losses due to pest damage.
Used as an Insecticide:
METHACRIFOS is used as an insecticide to control a variety of insects that can cause damage to crops and stored grains. Its effectiveness against a broad spectrum of insects makes it a versatile choice for pest management.
Used as an Acaricide:
In addition to its insecticidal properties, METHACRIFOS is also used as an acaricide to control mite populations. This is particularly important in agriculture, as mites can cause significant damage to plants and reduce crop yields.
Metabolism
Methacrifos administered in animals is
rapidly metabolized and excreted. The carboxy methyl
ester bond is cleaved as well as the phosphoryl methyl and
vinyl ester bonds. Oxidative desulfuration also occurs.
Toxicity evaluation
The acute oral LD50 for rats is
678 mg/kg. Inhalation LC50 (4 h) for rats is 2.2 mg/L
air. NOEL (2 yr) for rats is 0.6 mg/kg b.w. daily. ADI
is 6 μg/kg b.w.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 62610-77-9 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 6,2,6,1 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 62610-77:
(7*6)+(6*2)+(5*6)+(4*1)+(3*0)+(2*7)+(1*7)=109
109 % 10 = 9
So 62610-77-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
