Description

Hexadecyl 3,5-bis-tert-butyl-4-hydroxybenzoate is used as a light stabilizer for the protection of polyolefins, polycarbonate, and systems containing flame retardants and thioesters. It is effective in preventing degradation caused by exposure to sunlight or artificial light sources, thus enhancing the longevity and performance of the materials.
Hexadecyl 3,5-bis-tert-butyl-4-hydroxybenzoate is used as an additive for polyolefin plastics, such as PP and PE, to improve their resistance to UV radiation. The general dosage ranges between 0.25% and 1%, depending on the substrate and the performance requirements of the final application.
When used in combination with benzophenone UV stabilizers or phosphite antioxidants, Hexadecyl 3,5-bis-tert-butyl-4-hydroxybenzoate shows a good synergistic effect, further enhancing the stability and durability of the plastics.
