Description
TRIPENTAERYTHRITOL, also known as trimethylolmelamine, is a white to ivory powder with eight primary hydroxyl groups, all of which are esterifiable. It is a versatile organic compound that is combustible in nature. Due to its unique chemical structure, it finds various applications across different industries.
Uses
Used in Coatings Industry:
TRIPENTAERYTHRITOL is used as a crosslinking agent for its ability to react with isocyanates, which enhances the durability and performance of coatings. This application is particularly relevant in the production of automotive coatings, wood coatings, and industrial maintenance coatings.
Used in Plastics Industry:
In the plastics industry, TRIPENTAERYTHRITOL is used as a plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) to improve its flexibility and workability. Its esterification properties allow it to form strong bonds with the polymer chains, resulting in improved mechanical properties and resistance to environmental factors.
Used in Adhesives Industry:
TRIPENTAERYTHRITOL is used as a reactive diluent in the formulation of adhesives, particularly in the production of polyurethane-based adhesives. Its high reactivity and compatibility with various polymers contribute to the development of strong, durable, and fast-setting adhesives.
Used in Lubricant Additives Industry:
TRIPENTAERYTHRITOL is used as a component in the synthesis of various lubricant additives, such as extreme pressure additives and antioxidants. Its esterification properties enable it to form stable and effective additives that enhance the performance and longevity of lubricants.
Used in Explosives Industry:
In the explosives industry, TRIPENTAERYTHRITOL is used as a component in the production of certain types of explosives due to its high energy content and compatibility with other explosive materials.
Used in Hard Resins, Varnishes, and Fast-Drying Tall-Oil Vehicles:
TRIPENTAERYTHRITOL is used as a reactive diluent and crosslinking agent in the production of hard resins, varnishes, and fast-drying tall-oil vehicles. Its ability to form strong bonds with other components in these formulations results in improved hardness, durability, and drying times.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 78-24-0 includes 5 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 2 digits, 7 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 78-24:
(4*7)+(3*8)+(2*2)+(1*4)=60
60 % 10 = 0
So 78-24-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

HIGHLY FUNCTIONAL EPOXIDIZED RESINS AND COATINGS
-
, (2016/05/02)
The invention provides highly functional epoxy resins that may be used themselves in coating formulations and applications but which may be further functionalized via ring-opening reactions of the epoxy groups yielding derivative resins with other useful functionalities. The highly functional epoxy resins are synthesized from the epoxidation of vegetable or seed oil esters of polyols having 4 or more hydroxyl groups/molecule. In one embodiment, the polyol is sucrose and the vegetable or seed oil is selected from corn oil, castor oil, soybean oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, linseed oil, tall oil fatty acid, tung oil, vernonia oil, and mixtures thereof. Methods of making of the epoxy resin and each of its derivative resins are disclosed as are coating compositions and coated objects using each of the resins.
Synthetic lubricating oil

, (2008/06/13)
A synthetic lubricating oil contains an esterification product obtained from a hydroxycarboxylic acid polyol ester (A) and at least one aliphatic monocarboxylic acid (B), and optionally either an aliphatic carboxylic acid having two or more carboxyl groups (C) or a combination of an aliphatic carboxylic acid having two or more carboxyl groups (C) and an aliphatic polyhydric alcohol (D).
