Description
4-(3-CARBAZOLYLAMINO)PHENOL is an organic compound with a carbazole amine group attached to a phenol molecule. It exhibits unique properties such as red light absorption and dark blue coloration. In concentrated sulfuric acid, it appears as a faint blue, while upon dilution, it forms a blue precipitate.
Uses
Used in Textile Industry:
4-(3-CARBAZOLYLAMINO)PHENOL is used as a dye for Mercerized fabric for its light fastness, ironing fastness, and chlorine bleach properties. It is rated ISO 5 for light fastness, 3 for ironing fastness, and 6 for chlorine bleach, making it suitable for various textile applications.
Used in Stain and Fading Prevention:
4-(3-CARBAZOLYLAMINO)PHENOL is used as a stain and fading prevention agent in the textile industry. It has an oxygen bleach rating of 3-4, which helps maintain the color and quality of fabrics during the washing process.
Preparation
3-(4-Hydroxyanilino)carbazole in 107 ℃ in butanol sodium polysulfide solution reflux heating 24 hours, and then with sodium nitrite short time heating, steam out of butanol, through the air and add salt to make dye completely precipitated out. This indophenol is by carbazole and nitroso phenol in concentrated sulfuric acid in – 20 to 23 ℃ condensation, then reduction and have to (BIOS983, 71 -74). To cure solution is to add 3 – methyl – 4 ‘- hydroxy – 4 – aminodiphenylamine, 4, 4’ – dihydroxydiphenyl aniline and phenol, improved the performance of the dye (BIOS983, 75- 81). Note: use with C.I. leuco sulfur dye similar method, some the structure of the dyes can be converted into the leuco compound.
