Terpene resin is a moisture barrier that is the betapinene polymer obtained by polymerizing terpene hydrocarbons derived from wood.

Uses

Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
Terpene resin is used as a moisture barrier for soft gelatin capsules to protect them from moisture and maintain their stability and integrity. It is used in an amount not to exceed 0.07% of the weight of the capsule.
Used in Vitamin Industry:
Terpene resin is used as a moisture barrier for powders of ascorbic acid or its salts to prevent moisture absorption and degradation. It is used in an amount not to exceed 7% of the weight of the powder.
