4-tert-Butyl-2,6-dimethylphenylsulfur Trifluoride is an air and thermally stable alternative to DAST, featuring high selectivity, efficiency, and broad reaction scope. It is a novel fluorinating reagent that is applicable to a variety of chemical processes and is known for its tolerance of many functional groups, mild reaction conditions, and superior reactivity and selectivity compared to SF4. It is also easier and safer to handle, making it suitable for industrial scale production.

4-tert-Butyl-2,6-dimethylphenylsulfur Trifluoride is used as a deoxofluorination reagent for the synthesis of arylsulfur trifluorides, offering an improved method that enhances the overall process.
