Isobaric vapor–liquid equilibrium at 101.3 kPa and excess properties at 298.15 K for binary mixtures of METHYL PHENYL CARBONATE (cas 13509-27-8) with methanol or dimethyl carbonate

The vapor pressure of the pure component of METHYL PHENYL CARBONATE (cas 13509-27-8) (MPC) was measured at temperatures ranging from 378 K to 488 K. The experimental vapor pressures could be fit well with a three-parameter Antoine equation. Isobaric vapor–liquid equilibria for binary systems (MPC + methanol and MPC + dimethyl carbonate) were determined using a dynamic method at 101.3 kPa. They were correlated with Wilson, NRTL and UNIQUAC models. In addition, excess molar volumes (VE) and deviations in molar refractivity (ΔR) at 298.15 K were recorded for the same binary systems using a digital vibrating tube densitometer and a precision digital refractometer. The VE and ΔR data were in good agreement with the predictions of the Redlich–Kister equation.
