Description

DI-N-HEXYL PHTHALATE-3,4,5,6-D4 is a deuterated phthalate compound, a derivative of di-n-hexyl phthalate, which is commonly utilized as a plasticizer in various industrial and consumer products. The deuteration, indicated by "3,4,5,6-D4" in its name, involves the substitution of some hydrogen atoms with deuterium atoms, providing a valuable tool for research in tracking the compound's behavior in biological and environmental systems. Despite its widespread use, concerns over potential health risks, such as hormonal disruption, have led to increased regulations and restrictions on its application.

Uses

Used in Plastic Industry:
DI-N-HEXYL PHTHALATE-3,4,5,6-D4 is used as a plasticizer to enhance the flexibility of plastic materials in products such as toys, food packaging, and medical devices. Its ability to increase the pliability and durability of plastics makes it a valuable component in the manufacturing process.
Used in Research Applications:
The deuterated form of DI-N-HEXYL PHTHALATE-3,4,5,6-D4 is used as a tracer in scientific research for studying the compound's environmental fate, bioaccumulation, and potential health impacts. The use of deuterium allows for more accurate tracking and analysis due to its distinct isotopic signature compared to regular hydrogen.
Used in Regulatory Compliance and Toxicology Studies:
Given the health concerns associated with phthalates, DI-N-HEXYL PHTHALATE-3,4,5,6-D4 is utilized in toxicology studies to better understand its effects on biological systems and to inform regulatory decisions regarding its use in consumer products.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 1015854-55-3 includes 10 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 7 digits, 1,0,1,5,8,5 and 4 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1015854-55:
(9*1)+(8*0)+(7*1)+(6*5)+(5*8)+(4*5)+(3*4)+(2*5)+(1*5)=133
133 % 10 = 3
So 1015854-55-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Combination of solid-phase micro-extraction and direct analysis in real time-fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry for sensitive and rapid analysis of 15 phthalate plasticizers in beverages

Wu, Mengxi,Wang, Haoyang,Dong, Guoqing,Musselman, Brian D.,Liu, Charles C.,Guo, Yinlong

, p. 213 - 219 (2015)

A method for rapid identification and quantification of phthalate plasticizers in beverages was developed. A number of 15 phthalate plasticizers which covered all the phthalates concerned in the US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), European Union legislations and Chinese national standards (GB) were analyzed. By a combined solid-phase micro-extraction (SPME) and direct analysis in real time mass spectrometry (DART-MS) approach, phthalates at sub-ng·mL?1 levels can be qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed in a short time. The use of ultrahigh-resolving power and the accurate mass measurement capacity naturally provided by Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR-MS) minimizes the matrix interferences and thus enables the evaluation of phthalates in a complex matrix without extensive sample handlings or preparations. The limits of quantification (LOQs) were estimated to be at 0.3?5.0 ng·mL?1, lower than the Maximum Residue Limit (MRL) regulated by the European Union legislations (2007/19/EC) in foods, beverages, food packaging and toys (0.3?30 ng·mL?1). This rapid and easy-to-use SPME-DART-FT-ICR-MS method provided a relatively high-throughput and powerful analytical approach for quick testing and screening phthalates in beverages and water samples to ensure food safety.
