Usage

General Description

DCC-2618, also known as Ripretinib, is a kinase inhibitor that primarily targets the KIT and PDGFRA proteins, which are often associated with gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) and other cancers. This drug helps prevent cancer cells from growing by blocking the abnormal protein activity that triggers uncontrolled cell growth. It’s used particularly for the treatment of patients with advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) who have already been treated with other inhibitors. This oral medication, FDA approved in May 2020, has shown promising results in managing these types of cancers and increasing the life expectancy of patients.
