Description
MMP-2/MMP-9 INHIBITOR IV is a selective and potent gelatinase inhibitor that specifically targets matrix metallopeptidase 2 (MMP-2) and matrix metallopeptidase 9 (MMP-9) enzymes. These enzymes are involved in various physiological processes, including tissue remodeling, cell migration, and angiogenesis. MMP-2/MMP-9 INHIBITOR IV is used to modulate the activity of these enzymes, potentially leading to therapeutic benefits in various conditions.
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
MMP-2/MMP-9 INHIBITOR IV is used as a therapeutic agent for the treatment of brain metastasis. By inhibiting the activity of MMP-2 and MMP-9, it may help prevent the spread of cancer cells to the brain and reduce the severity of the condition.
Used in Research Applications:
MMP-2/MMP-9 INHIBITOR IV is used as an irreversible inhibitor of matrix metallopeptidase 9 (MMP-9) in cell cultures. This allows researchers to study the effects of MMP-9 inhibition on cellular processes and to exclude reciprocal regulation in their experiments, leading to a better understanding of the role of MMP-9 in various biological pathways.
Biochem/physiol Actions
SB-3CT is a potent matrix metalloproteinase MMP-2 and MMP-9 inhibitor. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are involved in a number of activities including angiogenesis and embryogenesis. In particular, gelatinases A (MMP-2) and B (MMP-9), are thought to facilitate tumor metastasis. SB-3CT exhibits a covalent mechanism based behavior in inhibition of MMP-2 and MMP-9. This inhibitor appears to have similarity to TIMP-1 and TIMP-2 in the slow-binding component of inhibition. SB-3CT has been shown to directly bind to the zinc in the catalytic site of MMP-2. SB-3CT does not affect the activities of MMP-1 (Ki = 206 μM) MMP-3 (Ki = 15 μM), or MMP-7 (Ki = 96 μM).
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 292605-14-2 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 2,9,2,6,0 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 292605-14:
(8*2)+(7*9)+(6*2)+(5*6)+(4*0)+(3*5)+(2*1)+(1*4)=142
142 % 10 = 2
So 292605-14-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
