Mild physiological reaction conditions ensured the suppression of undesired side-reactions, such as elimination or condensation. This biocatalytic protocol represents a useful tool for the clean racemization of unwanted enantiomers of synthetically important α-hydroxyketones derived from kinetic resolution.
