N-Acetyl-L-norleucyl-L-alanyl-L-histidyl-D-phenylalanyl-L-arginyl-L-tryptophanamide, also known as Acetyl Hexapeptide-1, is a synthetic peptide composed of the amino acids alanine, arginine, histidine, leucine, phenylalanine, and tryptophan. It is a bio-α-MSH peptide analog that activates the regulation of melanin synthesis, relating to the protection of natural light and inflammatory regulation. Acetyl Hexapeptide-1 helps skin better defend itself from environmental aggressors by virtue of a calming effect and promotes a visibly more even skin tone by playing a role in how melanin moves through the skin.

Used in Skin Protection:
Acetyl Hexapeptide-1 is used as a skin protectant for promoting a more even skin tone and providing extra protection against UV-induced DNA and free radical damage. It also protects the skin against UV-caused redness.
Used in Hair Pigmentation:
In the hair care industry, Acetyl Hexapeptide-1 is used as a hair pigmentation agent for stimulating hair pigmentation, darkening hair, and reversing the gray hair process.
Used in DNA Repair:
Acetyl Hexapeptide-1 is used as a DNA repair agent for helping repair DNA damage caused by UV exposure and reducing skin erythema.
