6375-55-9 Usage
Description
Acid Yellow 42 is a bright yellow powder that exhibits yellow to red light yellow color. It is soluble in water, resulting in a lemon yellow color, and also soluble in ethanol, which gives it a lemon yellow hue. The color remains lemon yellow when it comes into contact with strong sulfuric acid, and it still appears lemon yellow when diluted. Its water solution turns lemon yellow when it meets strong hydrochloric acid, and it turns a lemon yellow color when it encounters a sodium hydroxide solution.
Uses
Used in Textile Industry:
Acid Yellow 42 is used as a dye for wool, providing good discharge properties. It is also suitable for direct printing on wool, silk, and glue. The dye has a good affinity for copper, resulting in a slightly reddish dark color, but it remains unchanged when encountering chromium ions. However, it turns greenish dark when it comes into contact with iron ions. Additionally, it can be used for dyeing polyamide fibers and for leather shading.
Standard:
The fastness properties of Acid Yellow 42 are as follows:
Light Fastness: ISO 4-5, AATCC 4
Soaping Fastness: ISO 4-5, AATCC 4-5
Perspiration Fastness: ISO 5, AATCC 4-5
Oxygen Bleaching: ISO 4-5, AATCC 4-5
Fastness to Seawater: ISO 4, AATCC 1
Fading: ISO 5, AATCC 2-3
Stain: ISO 4, AATCC 4-5
These properties make Acid Yellow 42 a versatile dye for various applications in the textile industry, particularly for wool dyeing and direct printing on silk and glue. Its compatibility with different ions and its fastness properties contribute to its effectiveness and durability in these applications.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 6375-55-9 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 6,3,7 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 6375-55:
(6*6)+(5*3)+(4*7)+(3*5)+(2*5)+(1*5)=109
109 % 10 = 9
So 6375-55-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
