Usage

General Description

3-Sulphophthalic acid, also known as 3-Sulfophthalic acid, is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C8H6O7S. It is a sulfonated derivative of phthalic acid, and its structure includes a benzene ring with a sulfonic acid group attached at the 3-position. 3-Sulphophthalic acid is commonly used in the synthesis of dyes and pigments, as well as in the production of specialty polymers. It is also utilized as a corrosion inhibitor and as a component in cleaning and detergent formulations. 3-Sulphophthalic acid is soluble in water and its sulfonic acid group provides it with strong acidic properties, making it useful in various industrial applications.
