98367-45-4 Usage
General Description
Protected Imipenem is a broad-spectrum beta-lactam antibiotic derived from Streptomyces cattleya. It is used in the treatment of severe or high-risk bacterial infections. The compound is administered in combination with cilastatin, which inhibits the renal metabolism of imipenem, thereby maintaining therapeutic drug levels in the serum and urine. It works by binding to the penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located on the inner membrane of the bacterial cell wall, thereby inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Side effects can include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, rash, seizures, and allergic reactions. Resistance to Imipenem can develop in some bacterial strains.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 98367-45-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 9,8,3,6 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 98367-45:
(7*9)+(6*8)+(5*3)+(4*6)+(3*7)+(2*4)+(1*5)=184
184 % 10 = 4
So 98367-45-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
